Cant use Replay Buffer in FFmpeg mode

So I was wondering why when changing the Recording Type from "Standard" to "Custom Output (FFmpeg)" the option to use the Replay Buffer disappears. Is this a kind of bug or limitation? Or is it done on purpose and why?

ffmpeg is a separate encoding stack, and does not support the replay buffer feature.
ffmpeg use is also at-your-own-risk and unsupported, intended for specialized needs. Is there a reason you need to use ffmpeg output?

Thanks for clarifying this to me.
I am using FFmpeg because I wanted to use a better audio codec such as pcm_s16le as I didn't saw an option to change it in the Standard Recording type. I mean, it is not really a problem using the standard audio encoder but it would be nice to be able to choose a better one.
