Question / Help Can not change recording path after updating OBS

I have recently updated OBS and wanted to change my recording path. However I can not, as the option is grayed out:

I can not change the output mode either, as that is grayed out as well. How can I fix this problem?
OBS: 23.1.0 (64 bit)

Hello, I am new to this stuff. Thank you for the fix...NDI stream got me. I don't have anything that will open an MKV file. So, if MP4 is out what do you suggest? Thanks

it does not work. I did it but OBS still does not let me change my recording or change the simple to advance. What else can I do?

If you did not get the ability to change the settings, you missed one of them

just uncheck the boxes in NDI settings

I know it's been years since this was initially posted, but I just had the same issue as the OP and - because I was testing the recording in Zoom - my "start virtual camera" button was activated. When I stopped the virtual camera, the grayed out fields to change the recording path and the video file type became active. I hope this helps!
