Question / Help Black screen

Well when I try to use monitor capture it just gives me a black/blank screen and I can't figure out why. I'm running Windows 8 and just got my new computer. I used to be able to run monitor capture whenever I streamed on my old computer just trying to figure out how to use monitor capture on windows 8 and figure out where I'm going wrong at. Any help would be greatly appreciated

On certain windows 8 laptops, you have to set your GPU to the intel GPU via the nvidia control panel in order for monitor capture to work. Then, if you want game capture to work, you have to use the nvidia GPU. Not the most pleasant situation.
