Question / Help Best settings for ME

I've been having trouble setting up OBS so that it does lag out CS:GO or be too CPU intensive but at the same time have a good enough video quality. Here are the specs of my PC:

Intel i5 4460 (3.2ghz)
AMD r9 280X
8GB DDR3 ram

usual frame rate in CS:GO: ~300fps

I have tried recommended ways of fixing this but i found these to result in video quality being "not to a good standard" and I would like some tailored advice.

You're only trying to record CS:GO and not stream it according to this log file. If that's the case then you're not too far off by using Quick Sync. Stop using a custom buffer size and put your bitrate to 25000, re-enable CBR, undo whatever changes you made to Quick Sync's settings and use preset 4 (Balanced) under Settings > Advanced so the encoder can keep up.

Thanks for the recording help, just 2 things. 1, sorry i gave you a log where by I was testing a different setup i found and 2, what quicksync encoding methods should i use.

If you aren't trying to make local recordings then ignore my advice and post a log from a streaming attempt.

- Downscale to 1280x720, a 1080p60 stream of CS:GO will look like hot garbage
- Stop trying to mess with the custom Quick Sync params, you don't know what they do
- Stop trying to set a custom buffer size, there's no reason here

You should be able to put your Quick Sync preset back to 1 with the lowered stream resolution.
