Beam

Beam v1.1.0

One question for @YorVeX : I see that development of this plugin goes back to at least 2023 and you did mention the potential implementation of NVENC way back then. Are there any plans to do this? Seems like doing a 4K60 HDR capture might be a prohibitive CPU load as it stands which could hinder gaming performance, even on a high-end CPU like the 7950X3D in my gaming PC. Will give it a shot on some demanding games either way though.

Now that I've tested it out a little, it seems I'm having trouble grasping how to get this whole fixed delay thing working properly. Any tips? Also, the HDR seems washed out in my receiver as opposed to what is being sent out, and all of my P010 and Rec 2100 settings are correct on both ends. My Elgato 4K X seems to be handling the HDR just fine on the other hand.

Can't believe I just found this now. I've been searching for a dual PC HDR streaming solution that still allows me to use my DisplayPort monitor forever. Will be trying this out soon, and thank goodness for my 10Gb and 5Gb NICs on my gaming and streaming PCs respectively.

I know of 2.5 and 10 gigabit ethernet, but I've not heard of 5 gigabit ethernet. If you are going point-to-point, you might want to make sure that the 10 gigabit card can handle 5 gigabit. My Cisco Nexus is pretty old (think 2013), so it won't likely accept 2.5 or 5 gigabit devices.

That aside, I have plenty of experience of running multiple devices on the same network, pushing lots of Beam across the aforementioned Cisco Nexus.

My Netgear switch handles both NICs just fine.

An update to @YorVeX:

Those old ten-gigabit cards are actually PCIe Gen 1, not Gen 2, like I had originally thought. It was probably for the best to go with the Gen 3 cards I picked up for my current boxes in my streaming operations backend.

I recently picked up several Hewlett-Packard Z640 machines, three of them with dual CPUs. All of them have eight-lane PCIe slots which those cards can make full use of. I'll have to check them out at some point, but I haven't been able to cable the one I have installed just yet.

So I've been using teleport for the longest time but I suffer from gaming performance loss at 90% quality on the send PC and sometimes on the receiving PC my audio gets out of sync and I can very clearly see it in the live obs log console, which i can solve by just closing and opening OBS again, does beam suffer the same problems? I'm only sending 1080p60 and about 4 audio tracks
I have a x570 Aorus, 5800x, 3080 10gb, 32gb ram and my receiving end is a laptop lenovo slim 7 gen 6 with 5800H laptop 3060(80-100w), teleport works but its just annoying to restart my obs every now and then to fix teleport getting out of sync and its annoying to lose about 5-10% of my gaming performance just because teleport is active.
