While streaming Guild Wars 2 I noticed something funny... with the help of Bandicam to see the FPS >>
No capture at all: 50-55 FPS (while streaming, yes black screen)
Capture through AverTV HD DVR (HDMI Source directly from video card): 40-43 FPS
Capture through "Capture Monitor": 37-39 FPS
Capture through "Capture Game": 47-50 FPS
Wait what? I thought capturing through a video capture card would be less intensive, i mean sure, if I wanted to show my whole monitor it'd be a great option to get a bit more FPS (not that many for the $ spent though).
From what I know, Guild Wars 2 is more CPU intensive than GPU dependant, my GTX 770 4 GB is at 47-60% most of the time under 55% so yeah. My CPU being an Intel 4770k @ 3.5 Ghz is always under 60%, streaming from 1080p to 720p @ 30 fps, I have the internet and hardware to do 1080p @ 30 fps but yeah I'm not a partner of Twitch so 720p is good for most viewers for now.
Hmmm... what do you think of the performance of the diferent capture methods?
Have you seen the diference with diferent capture cards such as avermedia live gamer hd? (most twitch streamers have this one)
