I'm fairly new to OBS as I used to use xsplit, but I've been playing around with OBS and seem to enjoy it more. I'm trying to stream my xbox and I have done so several times through xsplit using a video capture device, but for some reason whenever I select it on OBS, the preview screen still just remains black. Is there a reason it won't pick up the signal from my live gamer? Ill provide gyazos below.

Hmm, checked back with our Mod Sapiens, that owns one of those Live Gamers. His and also my first idea would be using the custom resolution checkbox(in the capture card settings). Then use the dropdown to select the resolution and fps your xbox is currently set to.
I think for the Live Gamer it should not be necessary to fiddle with the crossbar as it only has one video input, so if our first idea does not help, please show us a logfile:
