Question / Help Avermedia Live Gamer HD HDMI out not working

Hi folks,

Having a bit of trouble with the Avermedia Live Gamer HD.

HDMI input is working fine, but the pass through to the HDMI output isn't. I tested it by:

1. Xbox One in to the HDMI in on the capture card = displays and streams fine on the PC monitor (which is connected by DVI)

2. Xbox One directly in to the monitor's HDMI socket = also fine and displays on the monitor when switched to the HDMI input

However, 3. Xbox One in to the HDMI in on the capture card displays and streams fine on the PC monitor, but I also have the HDMI out on the capture card going to the HDMI socket on the monitor so I can switch to that input and have lag free play of the Xbox One as it should pass through the HDMI output on the capture card... but the monitor gets no signal from the HDMI out on the capture card.

So it's not cables, or the monitor, or the pc... is there a setting to enable the HDMI out on the card? or something in OBS to make sure the stream is output to the HDMI out as well as pulled in from the HDMI in?

Cheers,

Tim

Hey Tim,
I have the exact same problem having fired up my capture device after a long period of time my HDMI output isn't being recognised by my monitor. Did you get anywhere with finding a solution?

Many Thanks
Ian

My experience is that the pass-through is really unreliable. I've taken to using a HDMI splitter and sending one to the monitor and the other to the capture card. Completely bypasses the issue and works perfectly (added bonus of not needing the capture PC to be on to get a signal to the monitor).

Nope, never worked for me.

This is exactly what I did.

Here's the splitter I use, it strips HDCP so meant I could stream PS3, etc. http://www.amazon.co.uk/iSolem-1080...1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

yeah i have a splitter and although its a workaround id like to know why the LGP HDMI output isnt working. Avermedia dont seem to give a Sh*t.

At most AverMedia will send out a replacement, ignoring that this appears to be a fundamental design issue.
To answer your earlier question about latency, none at all. Or, at least, it's so minimal as to be unnoticed.

UPDATE, I spoke to Avermedia and as I didn't buy it from them (amazon) they said send it back and get it replaced, Amazon didn't have any left so I got a full refund as its less than 2 years old. RESULT !! bought an Elgato HD60PRO works perfectly.
