Auto remux working inproperly

When using the custom FFmpeg output (in output, advanced, recording output type). If the container format is mp4 (to record to HVEC video) and have "automatically remux to mp4" enabled, it only puts out a mkv file. When you turn that setting of it only outputs a mp4 file. Is there any way of resolving this? Because when using the standard output it records as an mkv and also outputs a remuxed mp4 file afterwards.

Auto remux is ignored if you're using custom output, it is assumed you know what you are doing.

Well I do get that and makes a lot of sense.
But is there a reason to why the setting is sort of getting reversed? As in if it is enabled it exports to mkv instead of mp4?
Oh and while I am at it, I cant really find anyone else asking this but is there a remux setting that allows it to like normal make both mkv and mp4?
