Question / Help Audio through hdmi?

I have been trying to get this to work forever and still can't. i have HDMI coming out of my xbox and into my capture card. Where is the option to capture the audio through hdmi? my video in is hdmi but audio can't? someone please help!

You also need to make sure the audio on the xbox itself is set to stereo and not surround.

im not getting an error so i dont have a crash report or anything. Im using a 180p hdmi onboard capture card. i have hdmi and the xbox AV cabes coming out would that be a problem? the xbox av cables are going into my speakers. is that a problem?

In other words you aren't actually sending any audio to your PC from the console? Yes, that would be a problem.

Well other way around but it seems video is coming through HDMI and audio is only coming from the default xbox adapter. ill try only HDMI

Took the default xbox cables out and only have hdmi going in but still no help. can someone remote in and help? ill pay!

Use device audio is selected in the audio section of your capture cards properties in OBS?
For some capturecards you might have to switch audio pins if the card has more than one audio input.

My capture card does have more than one. Not sure what you mean by change pins.

Right click on your device source, there should be "Open Crossbar" button. Click it, it should open a window where you can select an audio input. Make sure HDMI is set also make sure that Audio Input Device is not set to disable.

Well, right-click the capture card source in OBS and in the properties window you should see the open crossbar button.
First select audio in the right dropdown, and then switch the audio pin in the left dropdown, click OK and OK and test if you can now hear sound. (Use device audio of course has to be active as well, as mentioned earlier)

Ok it is grayed out so i can't click it?

BUMP. Waiting on a solution.... Open Crossbar is greyed out.

Hmm, we can only work with what the Capture Card offers us. If the crossbar is greyed out you will have to check if the StarTech software/drivers allow you to change the audio pin. Maybe contact their support?
