Having issues installing obs-advanced-masks 1.1.0 on MacOs Sequioa (15.1), upgraded from 13 and also updated OBS (to 30.2.3) assuming that was the issue, but I'm getting the same error. I've tried the arm and the universal installer, I get the same issue on both.

Any thoughts?

Looks like this is a permissions issue on Sequoia, I'm having this issue with multiple plugins

Looking to see if I can find a workaround.
 
So I managed to get this manually installed by extracting the .pkg manually and copying the payload into my plugins folder manually if that helps anyone else. Command to extract a .pkg file is

pkgutil --expand-full <pkg> ./extracted-pkg

In the Payload folder you'll see another .pkg file, just remove the extension and it becomes a directory, the plugin is in there within a few nested directories.

Sorry you're having troubles with the install. I've had reports of the installer not working on Sequoia with that same message, but have not been able to replicate it on my Macbook Pro M2. I do appreciate the workaround, so that I can at least help others with the same problem get up and running.

Were there any log messages in your console/system logs when the failure occurred? If there were and you can DM the text regarding the installer, that might help me to troubleshoot.
 
I registered just to post this and I'm sure that I'm not the only one:

First of all: THANK YOU!

Second: Please add an "invert" option, so the filter/mask acts as a if to "cut out" it's shape instead of restricting the content to it's shape.

At the moment, I have to use a "Chroma Key Overlay" above the white area in this webcam frame to get the desired effect, but this causes Issues when transitioning between scenes, since the chroma key filter acts strangely when the green area vanishes.

You're very welcome! I'm glad you're enjoying the plugin.

That is one of the first things on my list of things to add when I work on Advanced Masks next. I am finishing up some work on one of my other plugins, but will be diving into Advanced masks soon. So stay tuned.

No errors, just the screenshot I posted above "Installation failed". I had to dig the logs out myself manually

It works fine for me. I'm running OBS Studio 31.0.0 on Windows 11 Pro Release 23H2 on one computer and Windows 10 Pro Release 22H2 on another without issue.

Which platform, operating system, and installation method are you using?

Method: now zip, but anyway, I used exe installation, it was no good either
Win11 is good for music, unfortunately Win10 didn't work well. i know it's interesting, but that's how it is.
 
In my use case, I'm using it on a video stream of my VTuber model sourced from VTube Studio via Spout2 into OBS Studio I create a mask so I can send an opaque NDI stream with my model and a mask to represent the alpha channel. On the receiving computer, I isolate both elements of the same picture into two sources, one for my VTuber and the other for the mask to represent the alpha channel. Once on the receiving machine, I use the mask as a filter on the picture source to punch non-me-shaped transparency holes into the picture so I can overlay it onto whatever scene I wish to appear in. Seems to work pretty nicely, but I'm still using BRGA for my current setup, which actually sends a transparent stream to the remote computer.

Hello ! I usually never have problems with the advanced masks but today i encountered a issue to where new photos could not be masked correctly. My old photos are fine and the plugin works great with them. But i added new photos to obs and tried to add the advanced masks to it and it didnt work for them. I usually use the circle shape one for the photos but on the new ones the mask only seems to be working on one side of the photo instead of the whole image. May you let me know if i am doing something wrong or what I need to change so the mask goes over the whole photo.

If you can post some screenshots of both what the mask ends up looking like, and the settings, I am happy to take a look.
 
Hey so I have noticed, and maybe it is something that happened in recent OBS updates, but it seems like the edges on rotated masks are much more jagged than they were previously. For context I have some scenes where I have applied a rotated (-86 degrees) rectangular mask to an image source to create a diagonal edge on it. Previously, and my apologies I am not sure exactly when it started happening I just now noticed it, the diagonal edge would appear smooth in both the OBS preview and on recorded/streamed output. Now that diagonal line is jagged. I am recording at native 1080p so no downscale filtering is being applied.

Curiously though I created a static image mask with the same diagonal and applied it to the same source and the diagonal line is still jagged, which leads me to believe perhaps it is something that has changed to rendering inside OBS itself. I am on OBS v31.0.2.

I just thought I would bring this to your attention, and again, it may be something that has changed inside OBS itself as the built-in image mask with a similar mask applied to what I was creating with this plugin still appeared jagged. If anyone else has ran into similar issues and has any additional context that would be great. Thanks!

Thank you for letting me know. I'm currently in the process of a new feature release for Advanced Masks, and will take a look at this in the process.
 
No problem. And like I said, it is likely not even an issue in your plugin as I created a static PNG mask with a diagonal, and unless I didn't create the mask to be smooth enough, it also has jagged edges so it could be changes in the rendering pipeline of OBS or something. If you need any logs or screenshots to help just let me know!
 
Actually, after looking into it more, it may be related to the Stokre Glow Shadow plugin. I have on those diagonal masks, a drop shadow using Dual Kawase as an outer shadow and it seems to be what is causing the jaggedness. because removing the drop shadow seems to make the diagonal line much smoother.

I am going to try an older package of the Stroke Shadow Glow plugin and see if that changes anything.
 
So I downgraded to Stroke Glow Shadow v1.0.2 and it seems to be better as shown here:

But I still don't think it is as smooth as it used to be, so it could still be a compounding issue of some OBS changes and changes in the Stroke Glow Shadow plugin.
