Non-OBS Script Connect Excel to OBS .1

This sample Excel JavaScript shows how to use the Excel Script Lab add-in and the OBS WebSocket to display an Excel cell's value in OBS.

With the sample script the User selects a cell in Excel, then the value in that cell is used to replace the content of an OBS Text Source.

This is a simple example to demonstrate the potential of connecting OBS and Excel.

Instructions:

1. Install Excel 365 or use Excel on the web
2. Install Excel add-in 'Script Lab'
   • To install Script Lab, in Excel go to the 'Insert' menu -> 'Get Add-ins' -> search for "Script Lab"
   • Import the Sample Script:

3. Install OBS 28 and up.
   • Turn on the WebSocket Server.
     • Tools -> Web Socket Server
4. Run Excel script
