League of Legends Capture Guide

League of Legends requires separate Window Capture and Game Capture sources for the lobby and game. This guide will demonstrate how to add these sources along with configuring the Automatic Scene Switcher to swap between them automatically. Alternatively you can swap between them manually or with a hotkey.

Note - This guide was written for OBS 31.1+. Always ensure your OBS Studio is up to date first.

  1. In OBS Studio's scene dock, click the + to add a new scene called Lobby, then add a Window Capture source and select the LeagueClientUx.exe entry
  1. In OBS Studio's scene dock, click the + to add a new scene called Game, then add a Game Capture source and select the League of Legends.exe entry
    • Note: you must be in an active game session to do this for the first time, training mode works fine
  1. Open the Automatic Scene Switcher from the Tools menu at the top of OBS
  1. Configure the Automatic Scene switcher to switch to the Lobby scene when the game window is not found
  1. Configure the Automatic Scene switcher to switch to the Game scene when the lobby window is not found
  1. Ensure the Automatic Scene Switcher is set to Active and that is it, now focusing your League of Legends lobby window will switch to your Lobby scene and focusing your League of Legends game window will switch to your Game scene
