Question / Help Zero dropped frames

I have absolutely zero dropped frames. I'm sure its literally impossible to drop absolutely zero frames. Its got to be an error. And I think its contributing to my stream being a little choppy and a little lacking in fps

I've messed with the settings a lot and its getting better.

Dropping no frames is absolutely possible. As long as your network conditions are stable, and your settings correct, this should be no problem at all.

Choppiness is probably caused by your cpu being slightly underpowered. A mobile i3 is not ideal for streaming. You have some skipped/duplicated frames. This indicates that the sources are not providing the frames fast enough. Additionally, the encoder is being burdened a lot, as encoding a single frame takes around 50 ms.

I'm stuttering about once every fifteen seconds. Also, when I pull up a youtube video and my stream simultaneously to like sort of visually check the fps... the youtube video showing on the stream is not as smooth as what I see on my sreen.

I suppose if its bad after I archive myself playing in game... I could lower the bitrate to 200 and size down the sources... bitrates at 1700 now.

I did an 8 hour stream once and dropped 0 frames. As said it's easily possible if your equipment and connection are capable.

I would be more worried if I was dropping frames, If you have a good machine, good broadband and properly tested OBS settings you should not be dropping frames, you mention bit rate but do not say what resolution you are streaming at ?
