Does the game itself crash? If so then it's probably some sort of interfering program.

(Cue copy & paste: ) These could be other capture programs, game mods and graphics mods (sweetfx in particular), graphics card utilities like msi afterburner or the EVGA 'K boost' feature (I think it's called), or programs that put in custom in-game overlays for their program, such as teamspeak/mumble overlays, or razer synapse overlay. If you're using "D3Dgear" (a very invasive program), you must completely completely uninstall it to fix the issue.

Other than the steam overlay all that remains is Razer Comms. Which I don't even use tbh. I will try removing that. Would the NVidia GeForce program cause any issues?

The geforce program is part of your drivers. I would probably leave that be. Can't remember if razer comms causes problems though. If you're not using it you might as well remove it, though I don't quite know to be honest.

Thank you for letting me know. I'll keep it in mind for the future (and put it on that ever growing list of conflicts in my copy&paste)

I just realized, that I had Razer Synapse closed as well. Though not uninstalled, Comms I uninstalled. So there's that to consider.
