Question / Help XCapture-1 Help

Hi, so I'm trying to start streaming console games, and I acquired a Micomsoft XCapture-1 (which uses directshow, and is a USB 3.0 capture card) to do so, since it's capable of handling anything, as well as outputting said signal natively, over the same input. However, when I try to use it with OBS, I have a LOT of difficulty getting it working. I know the card is doing its job, because when I open VideoKeeper2, their software, it shows the image being sent from my switch over HDMI, and the same when I swap inputs from displayport to HDMI on my monitor. Last time I tried to record/stream with the card, I had issues getting the audio working, but the video still worked fine for the most part. If anyone has any help, that would be nice.

Yes, the drivers for the card are up to date, even if "up to date" is drivers from 22 months ago.

VideoKeeper2 cannot be used for streaming, it is solely for recording and picture in picture purposes, the latter of which I use it for since it doesn't capture audio from my mic, so I'd have to record that separately and I'm too lazy to sync things in post. Also, if anyone says "Just capture the video output from VideoKeeper2", I'd rather get the XCapture working natively in OBS rather than bodging a solution together that, while it works, is ugly and wouldn't let me see stream chat if I stream.

Howdy,

Late but here you are & maybe others following...

You may need to install an ASIO add on for OBS found HERE on Git Hub & installed on your Encoding Machine. Once installed you should see ASIO appear under Sources (OBS version 24) & I believe on some older versions it appears across the top bar up by Tools, Help etc...
From there it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Other sources which helped me with my Dual PC XCapture-1 set up.

I'm only using one PC. I want to use the Xcapture to capture video off of consoles, and unless I can get OBS working reliably with it (as in not spending hours dicking around trying to get whichever part of the setup is being belligerent to cooperate), I frankly can't see that happening on non-CD/DVD based consoles. (If the system uses discs that are readable by a standard PC, then I can just use the official disc in an optical drive)
In addition, 95% of the time, it will just show a black screen in OBS, but if I then fire up VK2, the input shows up just fine. I'm in need of a solution, as OBS rarely manages to successfully see the video from the device, and even if I decide to do that thing some streamers do of blasting unrelated music in the background, I still have trouble getting VIDEO out of the XCapture.
