Question / Help XBOX One and PC Streaming OBS Profile Issue

Hello All,

I stream games from both my xbox one and PC.

I have separate profiles for each platform, but the settings seem to carry over into each one.

For example, my advanced settings has global audio delay for my elagato (in my xbox streaming profile on OBS) but when I switch over to my PC Streaming Profile, those same settings carry over.

Does anybody know how to fix this? Or do I have to manually change and adjust my settings each time?

Thank You
Vince

Be aware that any changes are made to the currently-active profile. So you need to create the profile first, switch to it, then make the changes. Many people assume they make the changes, then save them to a new profile; this is the most common cause of 'changes not being saved'. They made the changes, made a new (duplicated) account, swapped to it, then swapped back and don't understand why the first profile doesn't have the old settings. Because they made the changes while the first profile was still active.

I'm being very vigilant but it's still not saving. Here are some more details of exactly what I am doing.

My OBS has two profiles (XBOX and PC) and 2 scenes (CoD and PC Games)

STEPS:
  1. I'm in my "XBOX" profile under my "CoD" scene and change "Global Audio Delay" from 0 to 600 --> Click Apply --> Ok
  2. Next I switch to my "PC" profile and under my "PC Games" scene my "Global Audio Delay" is still set to 600.
I change it back to 0 under my "PC Games" scene in the "PC" profile, press save, and then switch profiles back to "XBOX" only to find the "Global Audio Delay" set back to 0

This doesn't make sense...

Interesting. Try switching the bitrate on one or the other, and confirm that it changes correctly?
Could be a dev oversight, if the bitrate changes but the global offset remains universal.

The bitrate changes correctly. It's pretty much only the audio offsets that aren't changing properly.

I'm just confused because I see tons for streamers who use the same hardware as I do but they switch from xbox to PC flawlessly. I've been trying to figure this out for a while now and it's gotten very frustrating because i've been struggling with streaming settings a lot.

Thanks for all your help though FerretBomb. I guess you're right and this is a dev oversight.

What I currently found out:
I created a profile, exported it. Duplicated that profile, changed some settings and exported it too. Now, if a switch between these profiles, the settings stick to "their" profile
