Question / Help Xbox Live vision webcam not detected

Posting on behalf of my friend who is trying to use an Xbox live webcam with OBS, although it isnt available in the device list in Video Capture Devices. It works fine in Skype

He's using Windows 8 64bit. Any reason why OBS doesn't detect it?

If he is using the 64-bit version of OBS, he should try the 32-bit version instead. Some devices only have 32-bit drivers, just like the warning message in the properties window for video capture devices says.

Yeah we already tried the 32bit version but there was no difference :/

Maybe it's a media foundation driver rather than DirectShow? Does it show up in any other DirectShow apps, such as AmaRecTV?
