Question / Help Would it be possible to play on my laptop and have it stream on a different PC?

Hii!

I would like to start streaming and capturing videos for YouTube and Twitch just for fun. I have a laptop and a Brinx compact PB, but the laptop is better than the PC.

I was told by a friend that it might be possible to play on my laptop and send the information needed to the Brinx, so I can stream and record on it to take the load off of my laptop.

Would this be possible? And if so how?

Unfortunately, buying a brand new PC is not an option for me at this moment >:

I'd appreciate any help!

Thanks! :)

Generally you want your encoding (streaming) machine to be the more powerful. Have you just tried streaming from the laptop?

Most commonly and simply, to do a 2-PC setup you will need a capture card in the encoding system. Expect to spend around $150-200 on average for one.
There's a method for doing this without (using nginx) but it requires being comfortable with fairly in depth geek-level technical stuff. If you're good with that, here's a link:

Be aware, that guide is mostly for creating a simple repeater box; you can go from there to have nginx re-encode the incoming stream (from OBS on the laptop at a VERY high bitrate and low compression across the LAN) to a quality and bitrate suitable for livestreaming.

Thanks! I've never done anything like that before, but I'll give it a try.

Thanks again :)
