Question / Help Windows Vista Trouble (With OBS)

Hello Everyone,
After my old computer broke I have had to use an older laptop to stream my games. This laptop is running Windows Vista with SP2. Despite having SP2, when I try to download OBS it still says I am missing "the Windows Vista Platform Update". When I agree to download it, Windows begins searching for the update, but just sits and spins. Currently I am unable to download OBS because windows will not find the necessary update.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I hope there is some way to use OBS with Windows Vista.

I appreciate the suggestion, but I am running Windows Vista, this download is for Windows 7+.

Yes I know... that download is supposed to work with Vista.

If you download it and it doesn't apply, then you might be screwed... by Microsoft not supported your OS anymore.

A quick Google search did turn up https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17779/download-windows-essentials , so hopefully that is helpful. If not, I recommend that you use Google to search for what you need.
