Bug Report Windows 8 - Game Capture lag only in the stream

Hopefully that title cuts it.

Ever since I started using windows 8 instead of windows 7 I've ended up experiencing spikes that last for roughly 1seconds. The stream is like a slideshow but only on Game Caputure, this also shows up on the actual OBS monitor along with the stream but not in the actual game I am playing.

My computer and connection are well enough to upload at 1080p and has done so before, however it's lagging right now even at 360 25fps.

My finger is pointing at windows 8 seeing that a few hours ago the stream was mighty fine on windows 7. Any ideas or fixes?

Thanks for reading!

Frames do not drop until I drop the game (This happens to every game I try with Game Capture) here's a log;

The frame drop is when I ended the game application being WoW.

This happens in both 64bit and 32bit, I've tried using older OBS (The one in the log being the most recent) and have tried different settings. The game itself does not lag, only the stream and the OBS monitor, the square is always green and I've tried it with different resolutions and bit rate settings,

As I said before I upgraded from windows 7 to 8 this issue wasn't here so I am wondering how to fix this. If not then I am just going to have to revert back to 7 unfortunately to use this great program.

I appreciate any help and thank you for reading again!

Have you tried Window or Monitor Capture yet? In Windows 8 all forms of capture basically perform at the same level of performance.

Hello, Kharay, thanks for replying.

Window Capture and Monitor Capture work perfectly but some games I use I'd prefer full screen mode where Monitor Capturing just ends up black.

Monitor Capture ends up with a black capture? That... is odd. Anyhow, if you want to capture a game in fullscreen and want to make use of Game Capture you could just assign a hotkey to Game Capture, instead of assigning it to a specific title.

Then just start streaming and once the game has been loaded, tap that hotkey and it'll Game Capture the game.
