I want to record gameplay of a game called "Gunstringer: Dead Man Running" however it is a non-desktop app (I have Windows 8.1) and it is not displaying in the list of sources when I try to "Game Capture" or "Window Capture" it. Is it possible to record it using these configurations? Please let me know. Thanks.

If it's a metro app, then no, there's currently no way to capture these using Game or Window Capture. As long as you are not using a laptop, you can capture these using monitor capture without much of a performance decrease compared to the other two capture options.

Monitor capture on windows 8 is high performance, so if it works for metro applications, then use it. Might not be a great option on nvidia laptops though, windows 8 monitor capture on nvidia laptops is currently unstable due to their drivers.

I am on a laptop :( And the reason I am asking is because I have tried monitor capture and I am getting so much lag in the video, to the point where it only works on the ultrafast CPU preset, which decreases the quality like crazy.

Oh well, assuming there's no other way, thanks and have a happy new year :)
