Question / Help Windows 10 display capture black screen help....

I had opened a youtube video in order to test. (PS. I use Edge. Can use Chrome too.)
I opened the display capture settings because I like to define a rectangle to capture, but I cannot capture anything. There is no rectangle defining cursor or something with which I can define the rectangle.
BTW. Is the hardware accelerator (see log) OK?

Hardware acceleration settings in browsers, as far as I know, only affect game/window capture, not display capture.

Display capture is a full screen capture. You can add a filter to crop it, or you can hold alt while dragging the sides to reshape the capture.

I honestly don't see why display capture is failing for you. Just adding a display capture to your scene without modifying it should show your computer's display.

I tried in Chrome after disabling the hardware acceleration but still the same: black screening OBS. Somebody has an idea????

I uninstalled and reinstalled OBS. During installation of OBS the PC also installed "intel Realsense SDK" also and the latest gave 2 errors. Failed to download: File vcredist_x64_V110.exe and, also error in intel_rs_runtime_ia32.personify_n.o.v_396.msi...

Intel Realsense is a plugin for certain Intel cameras. Its installation is optional, and is not on by default. If you don't need it, don't check that option.

If the installation of the visual studio runtimes failed, OBS will not function. Did you resolve that?

Problem is back after restarting the PC: black screen. I checked setting of Nvidia /manage 3D setting/ program settings/OBS/preferred graphic processor to "integrated" and settings of graphics display of Windows 10 for OBS: still ok and on "power saving". Some Tips please

I have a laptop with windows 8.1. I am currently using OBS 25.0.8 version. How do I resolve the black screen issue?
I have only the intel HD graphics card and no other graphics card

@ALL theres another fix! (and reason for blackscreen)
i just happend to have the exact same problem - adjusting the graphics setting didnt change anything, but REMOVING and ADDING the source (Screen Recording) again fixed it for me - dont forget! to rearrange the area you want to record!- perhaps you have the same "issue" :D .

Have a nice day
