Question / Help Windows 10 can’t hear and record at same time

Obs was working fine, then I plugged in a different headset and now I have two options. Option 1 is being able to hear what I’m playing while desktop audio doesn’t pic up anything (so no game volume for the people watching my stream, they can hear me talk though) option 2 is the opposite of that (I can’t hear the game I’m playing while my viewers can) I found in “sound mixer options” if I switch to headphones it’s option 1 and if I switch to monitor it’s option 2. I’m pretty sure this isn’t an obs problem, it’s probably something I have to change on windows, but if anyone can help I’d appreciate it.

Change your OBS audio capture device to use your headphones instead of your other desktop audio device.

Just a heads up, if you have OBS set to just use the "Default Output Device", then any time you change that in windows there is a high likelihood that OBS (or any program that relies on that default selection, for that matter) won't update itself unless changed manually. Restarting will fix it, but that's a sledgehammer solution.
