Hello everybody,

since the last OBS update i got the following issue.

All of my window captures wont work correctly anymore.

I try to describe the problem.

I have "window 1" which is captured by OBS. As long no other window is laid over "window 1" everything works fine but if i move now any other window over "window 1" the window above "window 1" get captured and everything on it can be seen on the stream which is kind of annoying :(

Are there any solutions for this issue?

I hope its described enough, by time i try to post a screenshot of this.

greets
IMBA

You can't, unless you can find a Aero theme that looks like Windows Classic. Aero has to be enabled in order to capture a single window, that's just how it works. You can't capture a single window without the things overlaying it if Aero is enabled. It's a Windows limitation.

hello, I just created a profile because I'm having an issue with the window capture where it is just capturing a black screen.

This has worked in to past, but I just tried to use obs for the first time in a year. my capture card shows up, my web cam shows up, but once again window capture does not appear to function.

Monitor capture does the same thing. just a black screen.

as I'm typing this, I just realized (somewhat based on the above conversation) if i select a theme that does not use Aero, then window capture appears to work (with the problems with other windows overlaying or not 100% on the screen).

Maybe I'm missing something, but on my computer there is no "enable/disable" Aero. I can only select themes that have or don't have it (windows 7).

with Aero enabled my window captures are black and I'm just running in circles here.

advice?

PS. I'm trying to understand your last sentence...
"You can't capture a single window without the things overlaying it if Aero is enabled."

I thought your point was that it had to be enabled....

Ok, nevermind.

Looks like I found it just tinkering. I needed to check the compatibility mode box when adding on a new window capture:P:P:P:P:P:P

go figure..... and knowing is half the battle.
