Question / Help window capture - no menus

Hello,
newbie here.
attempting to capture window using both inner and entire but neither seem to capture menu pulldowns or pop up selection.

have tried capture layered windows and compatibility modes (not that i know what these are)

HELP, my solution depends on seeing these things and I was already to roll this project out until i ran into this issue.

Menu pulldowns or popup selection? What do you mean? What program are you capturing?
 
I have similar concerns and I can't find any solutions.

I use OBS to record my screen as part of my job creating video tutorials on navigating web-based databases. When I click drop down menus to make selections within these databases, OBS does not capture the drop down menu items. I use Window capture to record Chrome, Firefox and IE browsers.
