Question / Help Window Capture for Twitch Chat not seeing chat

So I'm trying to get twitch chat to show on my stream with no background. I followed the youtube tutorials to a T but I just end up with a static image capture when I do it. New chat messages don't show up at all.

It actually will capture the mouse over the chat window but that's it. Firefox behaves the same way so I think its something with Window Capture.

I'm on Windows 8, using intel Quick Sync, 2 monitors - 3 if you include the fake quick sync monitor. Help please?

Screen shots below. (i've tried messing with all the options in OBS Window capture but nothing took)

Having this exact same problem, spent hours searching for a fix and playing around with settings but no luck. Anyone found a way to fix this. I use window for some games which now I can't stream even if I switch back to x264. Window capture just flat out doesnt work anymore

It captures the first screen of the window fine and the mouse cursor but after that nothing. Whatever was in the window when you press preview or stream is captured but thats it. Like a screenshot of the window and not actual live capture

You said you followed YouTube tutorials to get the background to go away? What exactly did they have you do?

Maybe just try a regular window capture with Black chroma-keyed out.

it looks like he using the same setup as me, which is exactly what you suggested. A regular window using a chroma key. I use the twitch popout chat option with betterTTV running on it, then select it to "black chat (chroma key)" set my window capture in obs to use black as the chroma key and region select the chat box for my stream.

Same setup this guy has and it worked without fail until I switched to quick sync. Now NO window capture works in quick sync or x264. It just captures the intitial window contents and fails to continue its capture, as shown by his screen shots.

For examples of it working go to my twitch profile www.twitch.tv/deathwhitch and view past brodcast, last week you can see the chat working as described on x264, afew days ago I switched to quick sync and you will see my chat no longer works and i was forced to find an alternative for chat, however i am still unable to window capture ANYTHING

yeah i am having the same problem as well. i've already tried everything applied up top and also disabled any pop-up blockers and still no budge. all it does is "Capture" the window's but wont show any action to anything. i've tried to see if window capture would work and be active when capturing a youtube clip but it only captures and does not run the music video that i was currently watching. i would like to know if you found the solution to this problem. for me, i am running a windows 7 and Aero IS ENABLED, ive also tried both 32-bit and 64-bit and still get the same broken window capture.

Hi. Just to say I've had the identical problem. you know - just for solidarity. I just see my mouse wandering pointlessly over empty space regardless of how well populated the actual chat is. I also can no longer get TwitchAlerts to appear, either with window capture (which used to work) or the browser link. Very frustrating and disappointing eh.

I tried taking of BTTV - no change. And I am on a laptop (but a powerful gaming one)
