Question / Help Window Capture Can't Find Game?

To start off the game is league of legends and I know I am not the only person with the problem.

I have been working at this for the past couple hours going through tutorials and everything but just can't seem to figure this out.

The start up client works perfectly in window capture but when the actual game starts I either get the black screen on the Game Capture, or the game won't even show up in the drop down box when I use window capture.

I am currently working on this right now and I WILL NOT GIVE UP so if a very kind human being wants to add me on skype it would be much appreciated :D Just add "bennett.bhs".

I am currently in a custom game as I speak and all I see in the window capture screen is:

If the window is minimized, it cannot be selected -- window capture cannot capture minimized windows, nor can it capture fullscreen games. Only game capture can capture fullscreen-mode games. You need to either run LoL in borderless window to capture with window capture, or you need to use game capture.

I would recommend borderless window and window capture generally just because window capture is as efficient as game capture on windows 8+, but if you're on a laptop, I would recommend game capture because borderless can reduce game performance.

Hello.

Is... is there a reason you can't select minimized windows? Or is this just a design decision?

I can't select the game Messiah... (which took FOREVER just to get to run!) because when I alt-tab (or control-alt-delete) it minimizes.

I can do full screen "monitor" capture but it runs at like 15 FPS with bad stuttering... on my GeForce 560 / AMD FX-8370.

And game capture won't show it either... oddly it shows a game that's not even running (Goldeneye Source) as the only option.

Using OBS. Should I try studio? Is there any new feature it that, that may help?

Also, even if I can capture it, say in Studio with game capture, once I alt-tab/control-alt-delete, the dimensions are wrong so I can't maximize the window to fill the full recording session. It's some tiny, chopped, corner.

Thank you.

[edit] Lastly, you mention Window 8+ has a capture mode? What's the difference? Nevermind on this one, I found a FAQ for that question.

Ha! Even though Windows 7 doesn't support Desktop Duplication API of Windows 8, that doesn't mean people haven't hacked it back in anyway.

I wonder if that could be used as an opt-in performance tweak for OBS.
