I currently have 1280 x 1024 resolution and I believe this is 16:10 aspect ratio.

It seems most people seem to have 16:9 aspect ratio display monitors, so someone mentioned I should change my stream resolution.

If I change my resolution to 1366 x 768, will less people see black border? 1366 x 768 really considered to be 16:9? I read on the internet it is not considered as a 'real' 16:9.....

1280x1024 is 5:4. Changing your stream resolution to 1366x768 will technically give you a 16:9 stream, but if your source is still 1280x1024 you'll continue to have black borders since the source won't fit your scene. You would need to change your game resolution to 16:9 as well, or stretch the source to fit the aspect ratio (don't do this, it looks terrible), or get a 16:9 monitor.

IMO you're better of streaming at the same aspect ratio you play your game in. Otherwise you have to cut off part of the screen, or squish it to fit. The former being usually undesirable, the latter being horrible to the point that I would never watch it. The best option is just to stream in the same aspect ratio as your monitor or game.

Not Twitch, but the concept is the same, scroll down and see the 2nd check mark: http://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171

If he has no problem streaming in 16:9 on his 5:4 monitor, whats bad about that?
I would personally recommend to just add stuff to your stream, for example a chat on the side that fills the black area. (Keep the game in 5:4 resolution but stream in 16:9 without any stretching) In the end its probably a question of what you prefer. But many speedrunners that play old console games in 4:3 do it like that for example!
How to get rid of Black Borders? and why you get them on Youtube.
