Question / Help Will a capture card do encoding for me?

I am having some lag due to high encoding. If I get a capture card will it encode for me on a single pc setup?

While some CaptureCards have an internal encoder, it can in most cases not be used with 3rd party software such as OBS. The quality of these encoders is also not as good as x264 cpu encoding and last but not least using a capture card on a single PC puts some strain on your system as well.
So I can only recommend to use a capture card if you want to capture a console or another pc.
