Why doesnt OBS capture windows magnifier?

I have OBS set to capture display. Any ideas why it doesn't record the windows magnifier, and is there anything I can do about this?
Have also tried 3rd party app Glassbrick -- same problem.
I'm guessing that OBS is recording screen render BEFORE it gets magnified, which isn't that surprising, but other posts seem to suggest that Windows magnifier and/or Glassbrick should be recordable by OBS, so I'm wondering if I need to set something specifically to make it possible?

OK... so I kind of solved my problem with this: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/magic-window.823/

It's just an empty transparent window, so then I can set window capture in OBS and it captures whatever's happening beneath it, iNCLUDING anything I do with the Windows Magnifier. Had to fiddle with the profiles.txt file that comes with it to set 1920x1080 res, and I guess it wouldn't work with multiple displays... but other than a bit of weird flickering on my taskbar and the occasional .net crash, it works!

Thinking about it now... surely OBS desktop capture is really just the same thing... a transparent window that captures everything underneath it? So why doesn't it recognize what the magnifier is doing? Strange.
