Question / Help When using monitor capture - everything just goes slow

When I use game capture on a game things are perfectly fine.

But I often stream hopping from browser to program on my monitor, so I pretty much have to use monitor capture.

But the moment I use it, my computer starts getting very choppy, like it runs on a very low amount of frames per second, this applies to both my two monitors.

I tried changing a lot of settings with no success, I recalled testing once yesterday with monitor capture where everything worked fine without any problems or choppy-ness, but when I tried again it was just as choppy as before.

Update: I just tried using the mulitplatform version of OBS on windows 8, and monitor capture works 100% fine there, however I still wish to have a solution on the normal OBS.

I have the same problem! I can only game capture and window capture, Whenever I try to use monitor capture everything just becomes sluggish and everyone is saying to try "Disable Aero" but on windows 8 you cannot do that. I really hope OBS fixes this

I'm under the impression that general advice in this situation is "don't use monitor capture"

Create separate sources for both browser and program if you must
