Question / Help What Settings Should I Use For GTAV?

I am wanting to locally record Grand Theft Auto V at 1080p 60fps if possible please.

Here are my PC specs for you:

Graphics Card: AMD Gigabyte R9 280 Windforce 3X 3GB 3GB GDDR5
Processor: AMD FX-4350 Socket AM3+ 4.2GHz 8MB L3 Cache
Windows Version: Windows 7 Professional
RAM: 8GB

I have tried Bandicam and that doesn't seem to pick up GTAV and when it does, despite it's settings, does not record at 60fps, see here.

So any help is appreciated folks,

Thanks :)

Unfortunately I'm not too familiar with AMD's CPU power compared to Intel's, so I'm not sure what to suggest. But, if you want to do it locally. However, 1080P 60 FPS takes a LOT of processing power. GTAV Is an intensive game, so I will suggest settings for 720P 60FPS, I think it'd work better.

Encoding: x264
Use CBR
Max bitrate: 10000

Edit: I'm completely wrong. saving to MP4 is a thing you can do, but FLV is definitely the way to go, since if anything happens the file will always be usable.
As has been stated in the post below mine, it's much safer to just save to FLV.

Base resolution: Whatever your base resolution is (likely 1920x1080)
Resolution downscale: 1280x720
FPS: 60

Shouldn't need to change anything else.

Never EVER record to MP4 directly. Always record to FLV, and remux it over to MP4 if you need it. Remuxing is fast and easy with no quality loss, as they're just different container formats. FLV will still be usable in the event of a system or OBS crash mid recording (or on closing out the file, which happens a lot with larger videos), whereas MP4 will leave you with a completely unreadable, un-savable pile of digital garbage.

Remuxing - as in convert it with Handbrake?

Also, why do you think I can't get 1080p 60fps?

I get no lag in the game whatsoever with game settings on max...

My old fx 8320 was fully load at only!! Streaming at 1080p 30fps. So i dont think u can get this working on that pc.

Just like Hopewithinchaos mentioned, try 720p30 or 60.

He's asking for LOCAL RECORDING ONLY. Which doesn't have the bitrate limitation, so he can just throw a bucket of hard drive space at it. If you don't need to compress the video down in real-time to fit over a reasonable streaming bitrate, almost anything can record at any quality/framerate you like.
