Question / Help What settings are best with what I have?

Hello everyone I have been toying with OBS for quite sometime now and was hoping I could get some assistance because i feel like I should be able to run the game at pretty good settings while recording, here are my computer specs

GPU: Nividia Geforce GTX 680 4gb
8 gigs of ram
Windows 7 64bit
AMD FX 6100 Six Core processor 3.31GHZ

If anything else is needed for me to mention please let me know this is for just recording not live streaming by the way!
 
at the moment I am only recording and just the games I am playing get choppy due to fps issues really been recording titanfall recently maybe I just need to change my setting and I plan on recording ESO as well

It seems that the encoder is taking too long, so you'll have to lower your quality settings. Since you're using as much bit rate as you want, try changing your x264 preset to superfast, since you won't have to worry about the quality hit that would normally impose. See if that helps at all.
 
Wow it really did run a lot smoother but the audio was a bit messy but i didn't even change the in game settings, any other suggestions?

Post a new log file from after your latest changes.

You should update to the latest OBS version and the latest Nvidia drivers. If you're still getting duplicated frames in your latest log file, there might be other things to try, but first you need the latest OBS and Nvidia drivers installed.

These are the logs from one I just did the video is just laggy is it my gpu or my cpu? Now sure what to do honestly i mean the game is in beta i should mention that.

Now that you're on the latest versions and are still getting duplicated frames, try using the NVENC encoder instead of x264. Use the high performance preset for now with a bitrate and buffer around 20000 each.

Interesting though that the AMD FX-6100 couldn't handle Superfast 1080p30. I'm not sure why that is, it shouldn't be that hard.
 
that was so much smoother when I turned that option on think i can go from medium to high settings possibly? is there any way because now we have a good idea that I can maybe improve it more?
