Question / Help What kind of preset can I expect at 720p60 fps with a 10 core xeon?

What I found best to do on high core count CPUs is to find out which cores my game uses and then use the idle cores for OBS. http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/40339-cpu-affinity-shortcut-program-create-windows.html

my primary game I use uses 2 cores at 80-100% and the rest use just 5-10% on 4 more cores. I isolate out the two cores by setting my shortcut to the hex affinity. note that this will need to be custom depending on the game but expect improved performance as long as you use your most taxing game. That being said, this isn't for everyone
I'll give it a try. How much of a difference is there between medium and slow/slower?

That was just previewing my stream at slow checking out core usage at slow, not sure if that helps at all.
due to your monitor capture and no actual game running or other load, you aren't really pushing your PC that hard IMO. if you have a game and can do a game capture, that would be most helpful. make sure you dont have a game capture and a monitor capture in the same scene when you test this.

Other than that, you never popped much over 0.5% duplicate frames so if you were loading down your system, that is the preset you want. if you were not loading it down and merely just sitting on the desktop, you might end up sticking with med preset.

I was actually playing rainbow six siege after I started the preview. What kind of bitrate should I be shooting for at 720p60fps slow? I'm currently running at 3500, but I'm not sure if it's high enough.

That is plenty high, probably to high considering users might buffer. I would 2500 to 3000 and if your viewers buffer, reduce it by 100 until its all alright. you can do this live.
