Hey guys!
So, I'm running into a bit of an issue with my computer and recording.
My specs are as follows:
CPU: Intel I7 4790k
GPU: 2 GTX 770s (Asus and EVGA)
RAM: 16GB 2400Mhz
PSU: 750W
My thinking was that I should be able to record at pretty high quality with these specs. I also use the NVENC codec, so
Here's my dilemma. Whenever I try to record Oculus Rift gameplay, I notice a large frame drop. Usually from about 60 to 45 FPS. Now, this is pretty unusual considering that I'm using the NVENC codec (essentially, should say at the most a 3 FPS drop). This happens even while recording at somewhat low bitrates (5000-8000).
It might be worth noting that I also record my webcam at the same time. It's a Logitech C920, and I record it at 720p. My friend has suggested that my webcam might be the problem, but I'm not sure if that's the case.
Does this sound normal, or is something else wrong?
