Question / Help What are the best settings for a stream with low upload?

I go to my dashboard where the stream is on twitch after playing the game little. It's still doing the game as I did 30 seconds ago or so.
Is there a setting I can use to have good quality and actual movement for a good live stream.
I've tried what I thought would work. Anyone wanna come watch to have a better understanding of what I mean?

Here is my upload speed:

Don't get me wrong, you can definitely stream with 1mbps. I just don't want you to expect too much. You are going to have noticeable artifacts/blockiness -- some people can't accept that. It should still be watchable though.

See if you can get away with 1500kbps for an extended amount of time. Everything looks good in your logs but they were all really short sessions. Still, you'll probably need to downscale a little more. 864p is probably a little too high for 1500kbps.

Yeah, I was testing with setting for a few that's why they were short. So would 480p be about the quality I could stream or would it be better just to not stream till I can afford better internet for upload?

It's totally subjective (there isn't a real answer), but 480p or 540p seems good for 1mbps. It's totally up to you. Stream a solid 10+ minutes and watch the VOD and see if your settings work for you and if you're happy with the quality of the video.

Twitch viewers can be a fickle bunch and might get bored with a stream that isn't 100% picture perfect, but if you engage your audience and give them a reason to hang out, there are a lot of people that won't mind an imperfect image. You should worry about providing an interesting and unique experience first and foremost. If you're doing well and feel like a higher bitrate would help, then you can consider upgrading your net.

High bitrate streams will bring in the viewers, but high quality content is what keeps the viewers coming back.

In order to boost your upload speed, pick up your phone, call your ISP, and ask to upgrade your internet service.

5Mbps upload is sufficient for an HD stream, but you will need to make sure you have that much bandwidth to the server you are streaming to, also.

In this case, yes, Twitch. Generally you can do some test streams to them at various bit rates and see if you drop frames or not. Your ISP quoting 5Mbps does not mean you will have a solid 5 Mbps upload connection to the Twitch server.

Okay I just have really laggy/delay/latency streams and drop frames quite a bit when testing with 1Mbps on current internet. That why I'm going to upgrade to 5Mbps. I needed to know if that is good enough for no more streams like that anymore? That it would run smoothly. I know a decent setting for 1mbps but quality bad. So I'm sure I can figure out good quality setting for an HD stream with 5 Mbps.
