Question / Help Webcam is behind game capture.

Hello,

Does anyone know how to delay game capture?

Timing is pretty easy when I stream from my xbox one. I know how to buffer my webcam when streaming with my HD PVR, and how to delay my mic audio as well so the event in the game matches up with my reaction on the webcam, and the audio from the mic.

However when I stream hearthstone from my PC the video and audio of the game capture & spotify are slightly ahead of my webcam and mic. So my reactions always seem slightly behind, and if I am bobbing my head to the music I look waaay off beat.

Is there any way to delay/buffer the game capture and window capture to make the timing match up with my webcam and mic?

Thanks for any help you can give.

So I will take the stony silence to mean we can't do it :)

I was driving all day, thats my excuse for not posting :P

There is a way to make it match up using:
settings>advanced>force desktop audio, and then the variable there (leave to zero if you can)
OR
Use mic QPC time stamps.

I am not a digital audio expert, but the problem you are having is your webcam is lagging behind considerably. So you change your mic to match that, but then webcam lag makes banging your head to the awesome beats you no doubt listen to (:P) off sync.
It WOULD be nice to have the option of hand tuning a "video delay" to match the audio delay, but that is sadly not in OBS from what i can see.

The best way to fix this if the above don't work, is to fix the starting offender, the webcam.
Lower the quality from 1080p or 720p down a bit, it will decrease lag a TON!
(don't ever use the max res on a webcam, its super laggy, use the one just beneath it)
and use I420 for webcam's format.

If none of those help, do reply :D

Not sure @dacoder read the question.

No, there's no way at-present to delay a Game Capture source to make everything match up. Jim and the devs decided that it would eat too much VRAM (about 300MB for 2 seconds of uncompressed video, just counting the game cap layer). Not sure I agree, living in the age of 2-3GB VRAM cards, but there you go.

Cutting down your webcam delay will only go so far; there will always be a delay. Incredibly annoying as with mine (300ms) it means that if I hum or sing along with in-game music, I'm literally a third of a second behind, and it sounds horrible. REALLY want to see this added, as I'd really rather NOT go with DXtory (comes in as a video capture device, which CAN be delayed, but has a host of other problems too, including being not-free).

I have had the same problem, but lower the resolution of the webcam improves webcam delay greatly!
Also, you said the same thing i said...

Any update on this FBomb? I try and rap(poorly) sometimes and it sounds so bad with the delay (150ms)
