Hay guys

I have a fairly tidy laptop but I seem to be having a job to stream at any kind of quality.

Its an i5 5200 Cpu
8GB RAM
Intel 5500 / AMD R7 260M GFX

My internet is Virgins 152mb DL and 12MB UL. I am also streaming using Ethernet not wifi.

Ive been aiming for 720p with a bitrate of 2500Kbs using the default veryfast settings.

I don't seem to suffer with any dropped frames but I keep getting the error message in the bottom of OBS and I find my streams choppy.
I've reduced the bitrate and even dropped to 540p with the Superfast encoding setting it still seems to pop up and the stream still seems unsmooth and also the quality (I'm guessing due to resolution and encoding setting) is quite poor when watching from my NEXUS 7.

I'm kind of at a loss with it, I feel that I should be able to stream on that setup?

ive up loaded a LOG file if that helps.

Thanks In advance

Code:
Number of frames skipped due to encoder lag: 1121 (12.76%)

WARNING: Another hook is already present while trying to hook d3d9.dll, hook
target is \Device\HarddiskVolume4\PROGRA~2\Raptr\ltc_game32-99265.dll.
If you experience crashes, try disabling the other hooking application

try lowering your elgato to 720p and set your base resolution to 720p (no downscale) as well.

also, uninstall raptr or disable the overlay and capture properties of raptr (aka gaming evolved)

note that raptr currently comes with AMD drivers so you might want to do a custom install when updating drivers.

Lastly, there is an update for OBS right now, it mainly has fixes for windows 10, but something to check out.

hay dping - I still get the message when trying to stream in 720p. Am I totally deluded but shouldn't I have the processor and internet for 720p?? I don't get the error much at all in 480p and very little in 540p. will the High encoding error cause my stream to lag/chop ???

I'm just not sure what I should be expecting to stream at with this setup.

Ive uploaded my Log from tonight's tests.

Also does increasing the bitrate take less strain off your CPU or add it? I only ask because I have 12mb Upload speed but I understand unpartnered streams are capped at 3000kbs anyway.

thanks

so the problem being, you have a mobile i5 which is more like a desktop low MHz rated i3. Typically not great for streaming or recording. Second you aren't using your m260 gpu bit I'm not sure if you can due to switchable graphics.

usually the better gpu will get selected in the video tab of obs. In your case, there will be issues with that.
