Hi everyone,

I could not find find a better board to post my question on, so please be nice. If this question should go somewhere else please let me know.

Here is a little info about my question: I am trying to record my wife and me playing games. We use two blue snowball mics and are playing on our PC in the same room. I tried using Google Hangouts and Skype to get the voice from my wife's mic to my PC and record it, but I get a lot of echo. She can her herself in her headphones and I can her myself in mine.I tried lowering the mic strength but I think skype auto adjusts it to a 100...

Is there a better software that I could use the make the connection? What should I be using?

I am open to any suggestions.

P.S. I cannot record in different room. I cannot use one microphone for two of us.

Lower the gain on microphones and use them in cardiod mode, put them closer to every person and you should get rid of the feedback

I am having hard time controlling the gain on the microphones. When using Skype or Google Hangouts the gain gets auto set to 100 shortly after I lower it. When I turn off the Skype and Google Hangouts it does not get auto set to 100. What software should I use to make the connection(call) with my wife? I read that I could use Teamspeak. Do you have any experience with it?

In my experience, the best sound quality is given by Skype, even though it has some problems (security, bandwidth management issues) is still the program of choice when you care about sound quality. Just uncheck the auto features and manage your levels yourself, should be no problem. If the snowball has a gain knob maybe you can use it too, my Yeti has it not sure about the snowball

I am running Win 8 and my Skype is the one from the windows view(there is no option to disable auto levels). I heard that there is a desktop version of Skype, so I will try with that one and hope I can disable the auto levels.

I will try that letter today and will report here my findings.

Thank you for your time ColterTV!
