Question / Help Voice chat, can't hear others clearly in recordings

So I run a YouTube channel with several other people and the problem we're having is while recording you can hear myself not a problem and the game audio is fine but anyone who I'm in chat with is almost impossible to hear!

The chat i can hear them fine but it won't record their voice or stream it very clearly and during the videos it seems pretty much like I'm speaking to myself.

I'v tried using TS, Mumble, Dolby axon, steam and skype.

You can hear me clearly and if i turn myself down really low and game volumes to bare minimum you can make out others are speaking but are so quiet you can't hear them.

Is there a built in mixer im missing or an add-on to it or what? Im running the latest verison of OBS and have been having this problem for months yet when i 1st started using it it was lot clearer.

Please help we're losing out on some quality comedy here.

Make sure the sound for Teamspeak, mumble or whatever is going through the same speakers that OBS is set to. In OBS setting it says Desktop Audio Device: default. Make sure that whatever app you are using for teamspeak and such is going through whatever the default sound is. So me I would set obs to headphone, then set the chat program to headphones. So chat is playing through headphones and the sound obs is picking up is through headphones.

This would be my guess as to the problem you are having. If not. No idea.

ok cool, i think this may be the problem as i ave game audio coming out monitor n chat coming out speakers. gonna go ttry this out now, thanks for the help :)

I'll let ya know if that sorts it

Been a nightmare trying to figure this out haha
