Question / Help Video - Use Buffering Resets Whilst Streaming

Hi,

I've been using OBS to stream on Twitch for 2 months and had no issues until today. I'm using Hauppague HD PVR 2 software to capture PS4 on monitor 2 and as there is a delay between capture card and pc I delay the audio and video (usually by 3300 milliseconds).

Today the stream unsynced despite being perfectly fine for 2 months. I managed to change it to 2000 milliseconds and get it in sync again but for some reason during streaming the webcam capture goes back into realtime sync with no delay, therefore making the stream out of sync again. The "Video - Use Buffering" is still ticked and set to 2000 but with no lag. If I untick the webcam under sources and re-tick to restart the webcam it goes back to being in sync again but 5 minutes later during the stream will unsync again. I have to keep unticking and reticking after every game and it's becoming quite irritating.

I tried restarted OBS, restarting my computer but it still seems to carry on doing the same and I can't seem to find anyone with this issue and wondered if you've come across it yet?

Thanks,

Cait

Microsoft Lifecam HD

Since then I went on the live chat and someone suggested downloading the test beta. I did that and it worked fine again until I realised now the CLR Browser wasn't installed on that version, downloaded that and it started to slowly unsync again. I went back to them again and someone said it had happened to them too before, try uninstalling and reinstalling, so I did and still have the same problem. I tried uninstalling and not installing the CLR Browser back on like before and still unsyncing happens.

I've tried the log analysis and it's not logging anything in particular, I left this test preview running for 3 hours and made the webcam delay by 3300 (which is now far delayed than the capture of my PS4 screen) to see if I came back in 3 hours would the webcam be faster than the game, which it is now not delayed what so ever. I'll attach the log for you too.

I'm kind of out of ideas on what the problem is now. Do you have any idea? The strange thing is that the set up was all fine for over 2 months, I changed nothing, no settings, I didn't download anything to Windows that day or anything. I logged on as normal and a moderator of my stream noticed that everything was suddenly out of sync over time.

Thanks for your help.

I don't know yet, there might be a bug with it bug I haven't been able to verify because it doesn't happen on my end, it makes it difficult to debug if there is a problem. I'm just not sure what's going on yet.
