Video lag and stuttering while recording (log included)

Hey everyone!


I’ve been having some issues while recording with OBS, my video keeps lagging and stuttering a lot, even when I’m just recording simple scenes. Sometimes it freezes for a second and then continues.

My PC specs:


  • CPU: Intel Core i5-4590 @ 3.30GHz
  • GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4600 (integrated)
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Storage: HDD (WDC WD5000AAKX-60U6AA0)
  • System: Windows 10 64-bit
  • OBS version: 32.0.1
  • Recording settings: 1080p, 60fps, bitrate 4500 Kbps

I know my specs aren’t the best but I’m not doing anything heavy — just recording light gameplay or screen capture. I’ve already tried lowering the bitrate and resolution, but the lag is still there.


Any ideas on what settings I could use to make my recordings smoother, or if there’s something wrong in my log?

1. Display and Window/Game captures should have their own scene.
2. Your log contains no recording session. Results of this log analysis are limited. Please post a link to a clean log file.
To make a clean log file, please follow these steps:

1) Restart OBS.
2) Start your recording for at least 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3) Stop your recording.
4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Send that link here.
