Question / Help Video footage laggy but game isn't.

When I record my game play my game does not lag it is perfectly fine getting 100+ FPS, however whenever I go to edit the footage it is very laggy and stutters every 5 seconds. What is the problem? How can i fix this.

CPU: i5-4670 3.40 GHz 4-Core
GPU: MSI gtx 960
HDD:2TB
RAM: 16 GB

Edit: Game im playing is CS:GO competitive

I recorded 4 game plays not knowing this was happening so now when i go to edit them they are all ruined :/

cheers mate hopefully this works. and whenever i change it to ultrafast it says

"changing the x264 preset can have severe negative effects on your stream quality and CPU uasge...."

Should i just leave it on veryfast then?

For recording, you want it on ultrafast and using the crf based bitrate selection, it makes up for what would otherwise be reduced quality by increasing the file size.

Its still a little bit laggy in the video. Even tho i copied those settings its still laggy
