VHS Recording via Upscaler Fails

Hi All,

I am trying to record via a 1080p / 720p upscaler, it has worked , and I have recorded from VHS, then the connection drops out at any given random time.
the only way I can get some connectivity is by swapping cables and opening and closing OBS , it's very random.

My convertor works and outputs to a screen so cables work fine, , when I connect to my HDMI port on my laptop is when I have the issue, although the HDMI port works fine on other software, and just as to a larger display.

Is this a simple (Softwar OBS) fix or some incompatibility .

Ive done my own diagnosis here the video runs continuously in the selecting Sources then Video Input Capture and properties but doesn't show in the main scenes window or record, so looks like a config (user) error ! or software error

If the video plays in the source properties but not in the main preview, check that the Video Capture Device is actually added to the scene and that the eye icon is enabled. If it is already there, try removing and readding the source, then check whether another scene or source is covering it.
