Hey everyone,
I'm having a very strange issue with VALORANT + OBS Studio and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
I stream VALORANT to YouTube using OBS. My internet connection seems fine, and when VALORANT is closed, OBS uploads normally at 4,000+ Kbps.
But as soon as I open VALORANT, my OBS streaming bitrate suddenly drops massively:
Because of this, YouTube shows "Video can't load" / the stream becomes extremely unstable.
The strange part is that the problem happens only while VALORANT is running. As soon as I close the game, the OBS bitrate returns to normal.
I've already tried:
But the problem still happens.
Has anyone experienced VALORANT causing OBS upload bitrate to drop like this? Could VALORANT/Vanguard be interfering with the network connection or OBS somehow?
Any ideas or fixes would be appreciated.

I stream VALORANT to YouTube using OBS. My internet connection seems fine, and when VALORANT is closed, OBS uploads normally at 4,000+ Kbps.
But as soon as I open VALORANT, my OBS streaming bitrate suddenly drops massively:
- VALORANT closed → 4,000+ Kbps
- VALORANT opened → 160–500 Kbps
- VALORANT closed again → immediately goes back to 4,000+ Kbps
Because of this, YouTube shows "Video can't load" / the stream becomes extremely unstable.

My setup:
- Laptop: Lenovo LOQ
- GPU: RTX 3050 6GB
- OS: Windows 11
- Streaming: OBS Studio
- Platform: YouTube
- Internet upload: ~49 Mbps
I've already tried:
- Running OBS as administrator
- NVIDIA NVENC encoder
- Lowering OBS bitrate
- Windowed Fullscreen in VALORANT
- Limiting VALORANT FPS
- Changing OBS settings
But the problem still happens.
Has anyone experienced VALORANT causing OBS upload bitrate to drop like this? Could VALORANT/Vanguard be interfering with the network connection or OBS somehow?
