Question / Help Using transparent image but it dulls down game capture?

Hi all

I have only recently started streaming this week. I am using a PNG file for an overlay I edited in Photoshop. The overlay has transparency enabled but no matter what I do it darkens the game capture. Its by no means black, so not the common problem people seem to have, I can see the game its just a lot duller than I want it to be.

Any idea's?

Post a screenshot or link to a VOD showing the difference between overlay on and off.

You're using an Image source, correct? Also could be helpful if you posted the PNG you're using somewhere, even just in a sectional, shrunk down or watermarked format so we can take a look at what's going on with it.

Need the PNG you're using. It looks like the person who put it together left an 'example' video layer active, or a 'demonstration purposes only' blocker in place to ensure that they get paid.

Yeah, that PNG has a pretty dark gray, semi-transparent background. I opened it up and cut some of it away to demonstrate. You'll need to go to the creator of the overlay and request a fully transparent alpha version. This is a problem with your overlay image, not OBS.
