Question / Help Upgraded laptop and OBS, now nothing works the same.

I've been using OBS for a while and although my laptop wasn't a powerhouse, I could create 30fps 1920x1080 videos with an external mic, plus webcam overlay and chroma key with no problem. The old laptop was maxed out when streaming and running a couple of programs, so I decided to upgrade the laptop so I could run more stuff while streaming.

On my new laptop I cannot get OBS to recognize the external mic and it never goes above 20fps despite any settings I change. I have attached the log file from a short streaming session.

My old laptop:
Dell Vostro 3550
Windows 8 Pro
x64 Intel Core i3-2310M 2.10 GHz
4 GB RAM
OBS version 0.591b

My new laptop
Dell Latitude 15 7000
Windows 8 Pro
x64 Intel Core i7-4500U 1.80 GHz
16 GB RAM
OBS version 0.592b

Thanks, the video problem is solved. There wasn't any software included with my PC that could control that, so I went to www.nvidia.com and downloaded the latest driver package. It included the control panel and I was able to set the preferred video card for OBS. It now streams smooth as silk at 30fps or whatever I want.

Now I just need to figure out why it is not recognizing my external mic.

I have found that if I set the external mic to Line In rather than Mic In (windows setting), OBS will recognize something is plugged in to the mic jack. OBS will record sound, but at an extremely low volume. I cranked up the mic boost in windows and in OBS, but the levels are still very low.

Tha sounds unusual. There's extra mic boost in audio settings if you need.
