I just spent several hours trying to install VST plugins with OBS Studio 20.1.3. I downloaded a few VST plugins that were shown working in OBS in various YouTube videos (ReaPlugs, Lisp, etc) and put the plugin .dll files in the folders recommended in https://github.com/jp9000/obs-studio/wiki/Filters-Guide ... I put the .dll in C:/Program Files/VSTPlugins/ then opened OBS and it did not detect the plugin, I closed OBS, then put the same .dll in C:/Program Files/Common Files/VSTPlugins/ and opened OBS, still did not detect the plugin, etc. Same thing for the C:/Program Files/Steinberg/VstPlugins/ folder.
I'm mainly wanting to add a de-esser filter, I already have the default noise suppression and noise gate filters applied to my mic but I wanted a de-esser. None of the VST 2.x plugins I tried installing were detected by OBS.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong since I was using the same VST plugins recommended in YouTube videos and was putting the plugins in the recommended folders.
Any help would be appreciated.
