Question / Help UI flickers in video playback.

Forgive me if I missed this posted somewhere else.

I am currently playing Planetside 2 by SOE.

I have been recording my gameplay for scrutiny and PR usage.

While I am recording I have no issue, but when I watch my recorded video, the UI is constantly "flashing" in the playback. The onscreen action, vehicles, other players, effects, etc, all look brilliant, just the UI/Overlay flashes constantly.

Any idea what might be causing this and/or how to fix it?

It's not a setting, it's a source. Add it instead of monitor / window capture or whatever you're using now.

I gotcha. yep. I tried it. That did make the flicker go away, but now the framerate in video playback is bad. it looks fine while playing/recording. But now on playback the flicker is gone, but video looks choppy.

The log you posted is not your most recent one, in the log you posted you are still using Monitor Capture, so it's impossible for us to accurately diagnose what might be going wrong when you are using Game Capture.

However, if you are still trying to record at 1080p60, it's unlikely that your computer will be able to keep up with both playing the game and encoding it at the same time while using x264. Since you are using a 3770K, I would suggest enabling QuickSync (Use QSV) in advanced options and cranking up the bit rate really high instead.

Oh sorry. That is the log from the video in question that started this conversation.

I must not have clicked on save or apply or something in my other tests. They all said monitor capture as well.

I played around with the settings a bit more and got it working using a few of the suggestions listed in combination.
